Season 1
Season 1 is deliberately the simplest version of Ticker Terminal that can still be a real competition.
What Is Live
- The full trading game, scoring and leaderboards
- Seasonal reward pools, funded before the season opens
- Holder chat and player profiles
- Free spectator access — anyone can watch the live market without a wallet
What Is Not Live in Season 1
None of the following exist yet, and none of them fund Season 1 rewards:
- Activation fees. There is no cost to play. Every eligible holder plays free.
- Ecosystem token. No token, no sell tax, no trading fees.
- Market creation. Player-created markets come later.
- Cosmetics store.
- Holder weighting. Because activation does not exist, every qualified player carries identical reward weight. Holding more TickerHeads does not increase your share in Season 1.
This matters: Season 1 has no entry fee. The reward pool is funded by the project before the season starts. Players are not competing for each other’s money.
How Season 1 Rewards Are Funded
The pool is committed and funded after the collection sells out, before the season opens, from three sources:
| Source | Allocation |
|---|---|
| Net mint proceeds | 10% |
| Creator royalties actually received | 30% |
| Treasury TickerHeads (155 reserved) | Allocated at the team’s discretion |
Net mint proceeds are calculated after marketplace fees, network costs, refunds, taxes and direct mint expenses. Only royalties that have actually reached the treasury can be allocated — royalty collection varies by marketplace and week.
Funds are held in a dedicated Game Rewards Multisig, separate from the team operations wallet, requiring multiple signers to move. This creates a public record of both deposits and winner payments, and prevents reward funds being spent on operations.
Reward Cadence
Season 1 pays out once, at the end of the season.
- Daily rounds award points and leaderboard position
- Points accumulate across the season
- One payout at season end, from the two reward pools
Seasonal rather than weekly, for Season 1, because it reduces payment overhead, gives the scoring model a larger sample to work with, and lets a bad day be recovered from.
Beyond Season 1
Later seasons introduce activation, the ecosystem token, market creation and cosmetics, which change how the pool is funded and allow more frequent payouts. Those mechanics are described in the roadmap and are not part of Season 1.
