The Two Reward Pools

The season pool splits in two.

PoolShareWho receives itHow it is split
Pro-rata85%Every qualified playerProportional to points
Rank15%The top ranked placesFixed places on a descending curve

Two pools rather than one, because each fixes the other’s weakness. Pure pro-rata means first place earns only marginally more than tenth — nothing to chase. Pure rank prizes mean most holders get nothing.

Pool 1 — Pro-Rata (85%)

Every qualified player receives a share proportional to their points.

rewardPoints = your season points − (−10)
= your season points + 10
yourShare = proRataPool × rewardPoints ÷ Σ all qualified rewardPoints

Share is measured from the reward floor, not from zero. A player on 0 points has 10 reward points; a player on +300 has 310. Both earn, proportionally.

Pool 2 — Rank (15%)

The top places share this pool on a harmonic curve — each place receives a share proportional to 1 ÷ rank.

yourShare = rankPool × (1 ÷ yourRank) ÷ Σ (1 ÷ r) for every paid place

The share depends on how many places are paid, which scales with the size of the field. A smaller field concentrates the same pool into fewer places, so each place is worth more:

A curve rather than flat prizes, so finishing first means substantially more than finishing tenth, while the last paid place is still worth having.

How many places are paid

places = min( 50, max( 10, qualified players × 5% ) )

Up to 50 places, but never more than 5% of the qualified field, and never fewer than 10.

Rank prizes are pure merit

Rank is decided by points alone. Holder weight never applies to the rank pool, in any season. Anyone — including a player who holds a single TickerHead — can take first place on performance.

Your Total

payout = pro-rata share + rank share (if you placed)

All amounts are computed in whole cents. Nothing is lost to floating-point drift, and any unallocated remainder carries into the next season’s pool.
